Specialties Arbor Brewing Company is a full service restaurant, brewery & banquet facility in downtown Ann Arbor. Our game room has darts, shuffleboard and TVs, & we have patio seating in the summer. ABC subscribes to the belief that it’s important to know where your food comes from and that food sourced close to home is fresh, nutritious, & delicious. We understand that the creation of sustainable food systems is as important to our community as it is to the environment, and we continue to participate in this process through a commitment to supporting local farms & businesses. All of our sauces, dressings, tortillas, & desserts are made in house using natural (often organic) ingredients, and our menu features items from area farms and producers. We offer local beef from McLaughlin Farm in Jackson, where their cattle are entirely grass fed in open pastures. We were drawn to the McLaughlins’ dedication to humane cattle raising practices & to the lean, flavorful burger their cattle produce. History Established in 1995 Our love affair with beer began in 1991 with our first batch of homebrew. Eventually the brewing operation took over the kitchen and basement and we decided it was time to look for larger digs. So with the help of family and friends, we opened Arbor Brewing Company Brewpub & Eatery in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1995. Ten years and a couple million pints later, we decided it was time to get some bigger tanks and take our show on the road. Our brewpub license did not allow us to distribute our beer so we built the Corner Brewery & Beer Garden in Ypsilanti to brew and bottle our award-winning Arbor Brewing Company beers for distribution. Although our production grows every year, we remain ever committed to our original goal of making fresh handcrafted beers of quality and distinction. Meet the Business Owner:
Matt G. The great thing about running an independent, owner-operated business is having the flexibility to experiment & create. While mindful of the financial success of the business and its products, I am not a slave to corporate profit models. For example, a few years ago I became fascinated with Belgian ales. So I built a Belgian-style cellar at the pub, purchased oak wine barrels, champagne bottles, a champagne corker, & spent a couple years creating a line of hand-bottled Belgian ales. It has been a rewarding labor of love which has allowed me to create something special for my adventurous, beer-loving customers (& myself) even if it doesn’t contribute much of anything to the bottom line. As a local business owner I am involved in my communities as well as the day-to-day operation of the business, so I understand instinctively that our true bottom line cannot be measured by profit margins alone. I hope you’ll enjoy drinking my beer as much as I enjoy making it! Arbor Brewing Company Also Recommends Corner Brewery 720 Norris St Ypsilanti, MI 48197 Category: Breweries “Corner’s got a bar, tasting room, and big outdoor beer garden in Ypsilanti. They produce and bottle ABC beers for distribution through the state.”
