Specialties Our firm specializes in all aspects of trial and appellate practice. We also specialize in formation of businesses and serving the legal needs of already existing businesses. History Established in 2010 Last summer, John DeYampert, Jr. launched the DeYampert Law Company PLLC, a law firm specializing in Family Law, Business Law and Constitutional Law. But John DeYampert wants you to know that this won’t be your run-of-the-mill law firm. He is building a law firm that emphasizes innovation and community service. Mr. DeYampert comes from a family committed to community service and civil justice. Lessons learned from his mother and sermons he heard from his father frame his world view and approach to the law. His great-grandfather, Rev. E.B. DeYampert, was a local civil rights leader in Birmingham, Alabama. His grandfather Dr. David A. DeYampert was a leader in this community. He helped build a church in Detroit. He loved this city and believed in it–And so does John DeYampert, Jr. Meet the Business Owner:
John D. John DeYampert Jr. is a trial lawyer that knows a thing or two about justice and community service. The former Department of Justice Lawyer comes from a long line of preachers. John’s father is a preacher. His grandfathers were preachers. All of his great-grandfathers were preachers. As a child, John spent his Sundays following his father and grandfather around Detroit, watching the two preachers serve the community with words and deeds. Now the preacher’s kid-turned-trial-lawyer will bring his national legal experience to Detroit. Scholarship and service are two words that accurately describe John’s legal career thus far. John is an author and former Editor-in-Chief of a national law journal, the Thurgood Marshall Law Review. He graduated summa cum laude from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas. (The law school’s motto is: Protect it. Improve It. Pass it on.) In law school, Mr. DeYampert earned awards in Constitutional Law, Trial Evidence, and Appellate Advocacy.
