Fran P. “Auntie” Fran Price started dancing in 1970, and started teaching 10 years later. As time went on, her reputation grew and her halau expanded to the Metro Detroit locations where she currently teaches (Ferndale, Detroit, Redford, & Livonia), while her professional dance troupe meets in Troy & at her home. Her students range in age from 15 mos. to 98. Fran emphasizes 3 main teaching goals: Exercise, Knowlege, and FUN. Focusing on basics to build a solid dance foundation, she teaches hula steps to contemporary pop/rock songs. During each class semester, students will learn Polynesian dances ranging from Hawaiian, Samoan, Maori (New Zealand) and Tahitian and will get a chance to perform in the yearly review in June. Fran has studied under countless prominent members of the Polynesian dance community, and has a real passion for Hawaiian dance and passes that on to her students. While not teaching, much time is spent preparing for shows. See complete biography on www.polynesiandancers.us
